Peda/Doodh Peda/Simple Peda

  The peda/doodh peda is an Indian traditional sweet.Its very easy tasty and almost everyone's favorite. Today I am sharing the easiest and quick method of making Milk Peda/Doodh Peda using milk mava powder within 10 minutes.
  1. Milk powder or Mava Powder    1 cup
  2. Sugar       1 cup
  3. Cardamom Powder     1/4 tsp
  4. Butter    2-3 tbsp
  5. Nuts & raisins    for garnishing
  • Heat a non stick vessel or heavy bottomed kadai, add 3 tbsp water and sugar,stir well. 
  • Cook till sugar get completely dissolved, no need to get any string consistency. 
  • when sugar get completely dissolved add milk powder and stir well.
  • Once it get mixed well add butter n cardamom powder. 
  • Take away the kadai from stove and allow to cool down for few minutes. 
  • then make small balls and flatten gently,garnish with nuts. 
  • That's it...delicious doodh pedas ready to serve.

Grease yourpalms before shaping the peda.
Don't wait till sugar get thicken or for string consistency, or else the pedas will turn too hard.
Within 5 or few minutes start shaping the pedas, to get perfect shape. the dough should be warm not cooled.
If the dough gets hard, just add few tsp of warm milk but adding milk will decrease the shelf life.
With 1 cup u will get around 10-12 pedas.
Instead of milk mawa powder u can also use whole milk powder.
