Papdi Chaat ~ With fresh Veggies & Chaat Chutneys.


     This is a very refreshing snack,perfect for chill winter evening.This is similar to the Indian roadside snack-Thattu Vadai Set...Here i m not able to find the small thattais ..i got "Bhatura / Papdi" for bhel n chaat n so i changed it to a chaat with green chutney and sweet tamarind chutney.Very good n yummy with fresh carrots n beets..u will not stop asking for one more  :-) these Bhaturas are available in Indian Grocery store..

Ingredients
  1. Bhatura      1Packet
  2. Carrot    2 no.(shredded)
  3. Beetroot   1medium(shredded)
  4. Onion     1/4 finely chopped
  5. Lime   1.no
  6. Green chutney     1/4 cup or as needed
  7. Sweet Tamarind chutney      1/4 cup or as needed                                                     
  8. Tomato ketchup       1/4 cup or as needed
  9. Coriander leaves    few finely chopped
Green chutney
  1. Corinader leaves    1bunch
  2. Mint leaves    1/2 bunch
  3. Green chillies    3-4 no.s
  4. Salt    as needed
  5. Sugar    1/2 tsp
  6. Ginger    small piece
  7. Lime juice     1 tsp
           Grind everything to a fine Paste with little water and trasnfer to a bowl.This chutney can be stored in fridge for upto a week.(keep it in air tight container)


Sweet Tamarind chutney
      This can be done using dates and without dates also.
  1. Tamarind      lime size piece soaked in warm water.
  2. Dates      6-7 no.s
  3. Jaggery    1/4 cup or less
  4. Chilli powder    1/2 tsp
  5. Cumin Powder   1/4 tsp
  6. Salt/Black salt  as needed
    Cook Tamarind and dates in a pressure cooker or in open vessel until it is soft n mushy.Then cool and grind it in a blender and filter the tamarind-dates mixer and keep aside..In a vessel,add 2 tsp water and add the powdered jaggery and cook till dissolve and when it starts boiling add the tamarind dates extract ,little water and stir well .Now add chilli powder and allow to boil for 2 min.Now the tamarind chutney is ready. You can store this chutney in refrigerator for even a month.

Method
Take all the items,chutneys,batura,carrot,beets and other items separately in a bowl .
In a serving plate,place one batura piece...keep 1/4 tsp of green chutney,1-2tsp carrot n beets each,few onion pieces,few drops of lime juice,1/4 tsp tamarind chutney and cover it with another batura with ketchup.
thats it now enjoy the baturas filled with fresh chutney n vegs
