Onion Tomato Peas Masala

  1. Onion   2no.s(finely chopped)200gm
  2. tomato   2no.s (finely chopped)200gm
  3. Frozen Peas  1/4-1/2 cup
  4. Green chilli  3no.s(finely chopped)
  5. Garlic  2flakes (finely chopped)
  6. Ginger   1samll piece (finely chopped)
  7. curry leaves  few
  8. coriander leaves   few
  9. chilli powder  1tsp
  10. garam masala   1tsp
  11. coriander powder  1tsp
  12. turmeric powder  a pinch
  13. mustard seeds   1/2 tsp
  14. cumin seeds   1/2 tsp
  15. oil  tbsp
  • Heat oil in a non-stick kadai,add mustard and cumin seeds allow to splutter.
  • Add chopped onions saute on low heat untill transparent.
  • Add garlic,ginger ,green chillies and curry leaves and continue to saute until onion turns golden brown.
  • Now add chopped tomatoes saute and cook covered till tomatoes get soft and mushy,stirring occasionally.
  • Add frozen peas and saute well.
  • Add turmeric, chilli,garam and coriander powder and enough salt.
  • Mix well and cook on low heat till oil separates from the masala.
  • Add 1/4 cup water ,covered and simmer for another 2 minutes.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves.
  • It goes well with chapathi,puri,godhumai dosa and plain dosa
