This type of masala pori are famous in southern part of India, u can see from evening road side shops selling masala pori, Thattu vadai set, chaat items, masala buns and many more. This Masala pori is one of my favorite, very refreshing and filling snack. To this pori they add some spicy chutneys, but i didn't add that becoz the pori will get so soft n chewy soon. So i always make masala pori this way and we really love it a lot, even tried the same with wheat puffs also. Healthy n filling snack. Only thing is U should eat this pori immediately after u finished adding all ingredients. The recipe as follows...
Ingredients
- Pori/Rice Puffs 2 cups or more
- Carrot 1 small (shredded)
- Beet root 1/2 (shredded)
- Onion .1/4 cup(finely chopped)
- Coriander leaves few (finely chopped)
- Lime juice few drops
- Sev/Mixture/Bhoondi 1/4 cup
- Cumin powder/ground cumin 1/4 tsp(optional)
- Chilli powder 1/4 tsp
- Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp
- Salt ad needed
- Oil 1/4 tsp
Method
- Take mixing bowl ,add pori/rice puffs and all other dry powder ingredients with oil ,mix well
- Then add carrot, beets, onion, coriander leaves and few drops of lime juice .
- Mix well and serve immediately.
Note:
One more very Important thing i want to say, Plz wash all your vegs, carrot and beets, coriander leaves well with veggie brush and salt. We are not cooking, just goin to eat as such so washing is much important. As these are underground vegs, contain more micro organisms if u don't wash properly definitely u vl get stomach upset.
Instead of rice puffs u can also use wheat puffs.
Oil u can use either coconut oil or sesame oil for more flavor n taste.
You can increase or decrease the amount of vegetables/onions...adding more vegs will makes the rice puffs more soft n chewy.
Really feeling to munch some, pass it dear :-)n love the spoon too...
