Broccoli Paratha


           Broccoli Paratha,this is my 2nd try...compared to first time this time everything was perfect and tastes excellent, but this time i used only 1 cup shredded broccoli(ie. 1/2 broccoli) with this u can make four (8") stuffed broccoli Paratha...this is whole wheat broccoli paratha. Heres the recipe


Ingredients for Dough
  1. Whloe wheat flour    1 cup
  2. Salt   to taste
  3. Water    as needed
  4. Oil    2-3 tsp
        Take a mixing bowl,add flour and salt mix well.Using water make it to to smooth dough,then add oil and knead for a minute and cover it and keep aside for at least 15-20 minutes.

Ingredients for broccoli filling
  1. Broccoli      1 cup(shredded)
  2. Onion    1/4 (finely chopped)
  3. Ginger    2 tsp(shredded or finely chopped)
  4. Cumin seeds/Jeera    1 tsp
  5. Chilli Powder     1/2 tsp or more
  6. Cumin powder    1/2 tsp
  7. Curry powder    1/2 tsp
  8. turmeric powder    a pinch
  9. Salt    as needed
  10. Oil   2 ts
Method 

  • Shred the broccoli and transfer it to a bowl and add pinch of salt mix well and keep aside for 5-10 minutes.
  • After that,squeeze the broccoli to remove excess moisture ,and keep aside.
  • Heat oil in pan,add cumin seeds when it sputter add ginger and fry well.
  • Then add finely chopped onions and fry till onion turns light golden brown and add all dry powder and stir well.
  • Now add shredded broccoli ,enough salt and stir fry for 2 minutes.
  • Thats it,stuffing is ready and allow it to cool completely.
  • Once it cool down completely,start preparing parathas.
  • Knead the resting dough for a few seconds and take a big lemon size ball,and roll it to 3" (dia ) and keep 2-3 spoon of broccoli filling and seal the edges together and again gently roll it like regular chapathi (with less pressure).Do the same for the remaining dough n filling.
  • Heat a tawa,fry the parathas on both sides till turn light golden brown...drizzle some oil on all around the parathas.
  • After that remove from the tawa,broccoli paratha is now ready and serve hot with plain yoghurt .
Try this broccoli Parathas...healthy n tasty paratha...If u try with more than 1 cup shredded broccoli plz increase the other spice ingredients and also the flour quantity

  2. Ultimate taste of paratha... i tried it and it was superb no words to say!!! i hate broccoli but after i tried this at home v r crazy behind it. i wish all viewers to try this n appreciate sangeetha's efforts in her creativity in cooking. Thanks sangeetha for making my cooking wasy:)
