Spicy Treats completed seven successful years of blogging with all the support and encouragement from my family, friends, well wishers, my readers and regular visitors. Thanks a ton to all of you from bottom of my heart. I started writing this blog to divert myself from my stress and anxiety, then at one point my blog becomes everything to me, I was so much addicted to blogging and was very much regular with posting recipes daily and participating in all events, trying out new recipes, took baking challenges, monthly events and so on. Then slowly lost my enthusiasm I dunno why but at the same time I can't give up too. I am in between now and somehow trying to be active with all the motivation from my friends and family. I can't believe that I have shared 950+ recipes so far and hope to reach my 1000th recipe soon.

Again I am here with an easy, delicious and healthy sweet, Beetroot Halwa recipe to celebrate my blog baby's 6th Birthday, yes.,Spicy Treats turned 6 last weekend, I couldn't believe that Spicy Treats is six years old now, time flies fast. I started this blog on a Thai Pongal day, 2011 with Vazhaipoo Vadai recipe as my first post, I started it because I needed a diversion or to try something new which I love to control my depression. I knew I love cooking and even before starting blog I used to capture my cooking with mobile just to share with my mom & sis. Later, I used that mobile captures to post recipes in my blog under the title 'sangeethaskitchen'. With the warm welcome and encouragement from my dear friends and few co-bloggers really motivated me to continue my work in an even better way with good pictures and presentation. Then, gradually improved myself and moved from blogspot to own domain www.spicytreats.net in August 2012. Also, V gifted me Nikon DSLR camera the same year and then got new interest on food photography and still learning to present a recipe with simple and appetizing pictures.

Five successful year completed by last week but I was sick and couldn't able to cook and post any recipe. More than my sickness, Browsing about the symptoms made me more upset and depressed. Thankfully, my test results were normal but still some issues there and hoping to recover soon.

It is better to late than never, So I don't want to skip a celebration post and made this simple and easy to make Carrot Kheer. Usually I prepare a week or 10 days before Blog Anniversary Date and decide the recipe and sometimes buy props too. This year I couldn't plan anything. Somehow managed to cook something simple for the occasion.

Chum Chum/Chom Chom is a popular Bengali Sweet that is similar to Rasgulla Preparation except the shape and serving method. Chum Chum are oval shaped sweet, rolled in coconut flakes.

I couldn't believe that my little space have completed three successful years.  In 2007, i came to know about blogging and food websites and wanted to create one of mine but i don't know how to start, never thought to seek help from google master. Mr.V also was too busy that time and did not helped me. Then after my kids birth, my interest and desire on blogging took back seat. But i used to click my dishes regularly, just a very simple picture and finally on one fine day, Jan 14 2011 signed in to blogger and started my first post, Vazhaipoo Vadai. No intro, just only the Ingredients and Method of that dish with a picture, this is how i started my blogging.

Today is special day for our friends and its a Birthday of a Wonderful Friend of us, Manjula who blogs at Desi Fiesta. Manju is such a sweet person whom I came to know her via Facebook just 5 months back. From the day one i never felt that she is a new friend, she really has some magical power/spark with her which really attracts everyone who talk to her. She is so bubbly, jovial and lovable person with whom i can share both my joys and sorrows. We talk daily and we talk a lot and i got to know more about her. She always bring a smile/laugh on my face while chatting.

The above quote definitely fit to me, have found few friends whom i met on Internet via blogging and now know them more by heart and am really Blessed to have them in my life. I don't have to explain about her blogging skills, about her versatility on her recipes, baking passion, healthy recipes, she is an enthusiastic blogger and also very supportive and inspiring for any new blogger. Her recent event, Rendez Vous With A Foodie is one best example for her helping and supportive nature. Every 7th and 15th of a month she show case a New blogger's post, that's really a nice thought and appreciate it. I came to know few new bloggers via her event and definitely for them also its a great opportunity to be featured on her great Space , "Priya's Versatile Recipes" isn't it?!

Brownie are rich & delicious flat, baked square or bars, this is my first attempt in baking brownie which turned out awesome. I made this last month for our 5th Anniversary, since my H doesn't like creamy cakes i just wanted to bake His favorite Chocolate Brownie without creamy topping. After an hour of searching i finally ended up baking Hershey's Best Brownie recipe. This is so easy n simple to make with great taste and rich buttery flavor. My kids and H loved it a lot and the brownie squares vanished in no minutes after the photo session. These brownie are perfect for any special occasions to share your love n joy.

Biryani- Who doesn't love biryani?! Is there anyone who hate biryani?! guess no one will be on that list ;)  Biryani,Pulaos are one of my favorite one pot meal. Even my H & kids are very fond of biryani/Pulao. So I end up cooking these rice very often, say almost every Weekend or at least once in a week. These Biryani/pulao are very easy to make one pot meal with great taste and flavor. And also it doesn't require any special side dishes simply a Raita is enough and makes a grand meal to us :)
Recently tried Mutton Biryani and it came out so perfectly and tasted delicious more than to my expectation. Since this is the first time i tried mutton on my own hand. To be on safer side i tried Biryani.

Today's recipe is a classic Indian sweet, Rava Kesari but made using fresh Pomegranate Juice and i named it as Pomegranate Semolina Pudding. I too wanted to share some sweets/desserts as Valentine special recipes. But becoz of the weather really not in a mood to eat sweets/desserts always my mind crave for some hot n spicy curry, crunchy snack and warm soup. But at the same time i wanted to share a sweet with pink or red touch then suddenly got an idea to make one of the easy and quick Indian sweet, Rava Kesari. So for blog sake i made this sweet today :)

I am so happy to share my 500th post today and also i have one more reason for this special treat, my lil' space now got more than 10000 comments...that's really a big "wow" to me since those lovely comments, encouraging words are my strong strength and without that i couldn't able to reach this level. Spicy Treats turns two today, am so excited and can't believe that my lil' space successfully completed two years and entering in to another New Year of Blogging with more hopes. I have no words to express the joy, though the journey was short, the happiness which i got through this was more - completely changed my life, got to know more interesting things around world, more good friends and  little recognition for my hard work and passion.

3 In 1 Biryani ~ Spicy Treats Turns One !!!

          I am Happy to share with you all that My Very lil' space had completed one year of successful blogging. Feeling so proud and excited :) But not feeling well by both physically and mentally to celebrate this great occasion. Yet want to share with you all and also my Heart felt Thanks to everyone for your constant support and encouragement. so far i managed to share 340 posts and got so many friends/fellow bloggers.
Its really so amazing that i was blogging for the past 365 days, my very first post was Vazhaipoo Vadai, i started blogging with full passion , my curiosity was to share my known recipes to all. In the beginning i never bothered about my pictures, only 2 pictures- one far view n close up view that's it.. Dunno anything more than that. Later after getting more friends and walking through their spaces i learnt myself that pictures also play a very important role to attract,admire n appreciate their recipes. Hope at the end of one year i am good at my pictures :)
