Cauliflower Peas Kurma

       Hope everyone enjoyed your festival holidays and back to routine. In my home we all are sick and couldn't able to enjoy our holidays simply took complete rest. But still having cold and ear pain, for kids also fever comes n goes :( Giving prescribed medicines but didn't recover :_( Dunno what to do, okk let's move to today's recipe is "Cauliflower Peas Kurma", simple and tasty kurma, i made this long back along with Spring Onion Carrot Paratha. This is a mild spicy kurma which goes well with any paratha,chapathi,Puri and with Pulav also. The recipe as follows,


Ingredients
  1. Cauliflower     1/2 medium size(cut into small florets)
  2. Peas   1/2 cup
  3. Onion    1 medium(finely chopped)
  4. Tomato    1 no.(chopped)
  5. Turmeric powder   1/4 tsp
  6. Chilli powder   1 tsp
  7. Coriander powder      1 and 1/2 tsp
  8. Salt     to taste
  9. Cilantro     5-6 sprigs(finely chopped)
  10. Curry leaves     few
To Temper
  1. Oil     1 tbsp
  2. Mustard seeds     1/2 tsp
  3. Fennel seeds    1/2 tsp
  4. Clove    2 no.s
  5. Cinnamon     1" Stick
  6. Cardamom      1 no.
To Grind
  1. Coconut     1/4 cup(shredded)
  2. Dalia     2 tsp
  3. Ginger     1" piece
  4. Garlic     2 cloves(big size)
  5. Pepper corns    1/4 tsp
  6. Garam Masala powder     1/2 tsp
  7. Fennel seeds     1/4 tsp
  8. Khas Khas/Poppy seeds    1/4 tsp
  9. Cilantro     4-5 sprigs
Method
  • Grind all the ingredients under the heading "to grind" with little water to a smooth paste and keep aside.
  • Heat oil in a large skillet, add the tempering ingredients and wait till sputter.
  • Then add onions and curry leaves, saute till it turns translucent and add tomatoes and add 
  • turmeric, chilli n coriander powder and saute till tomato gets soft n nushy  followed by peas and stir fry for a minute.
  • And add ground coconut masala paste and stir for 1-2 minute and add cauliflower florets and combine everything well.
  • Now add enough water(to desired consistency) and salt, stir well and bring to boil or cook till raw smell leaves.
  • Lastly add some cilantro and simmer for 2 minutes and turn off the stove.
  • That's all...Yummy and Tasty Cauliflower Peas Kurma is ready to serve Hot with Cahapthi/Paratha/Puri.
