Prep Time : 2 Minutes | Cook time : 3-4 Minutes
Recipe Category : Sweets | Recipe Cuisine : Indian
Makes 14 small sized Pedas
Ingredients
  1. Milk Powder    3/4 cup
  2. Sweetened Condensed Milk    1/2 cup
  3. Cocoa Powder   1.5 Tbsp
  4. Ghee   2 + 1 tsp
  5. Blanched Almonds    7-8(chopped)
  6. Pistachios  6-7(chopped)
Method
  • First measure and keep all the ingredients ready, chop nuts and keep everything ready.
  • Heat a pan melt 1 tsp ghee, then add condensed milk and add milk powder and cocoa powder and stir everything well until combined.
  • Cook in low-medium heat and keep stirring the until the mixture turns to slightly thick mass, now add another tsp ghee and stir well until chocolate peda mix starts leaving the sides of the pan.
  • To check whether it is done or not, grease your hand and drop a small portion on a plate and roll it, if it rolls to round smooth ball without sticky then it is ready.
  • Do not cook the milk powder-condensed milk mix for long time, always cook in low heat..this peda only take 2-3 minutes to get cooked.
  • Once done, remove the pan from the stove and allow to cool the chocolate mixture for a minute.
  • To shape Peda : grease your hands and a spoon with ghee and scoop out a small lime sized portion, shape it to a round ball  and flat it gently and make a dent in the center and add chopped nuts and arrange in a greased plate.
  • That's it..Delicious Chocolate Pedas are ready to enjoy.
Notes:
The Pedas will be soft when it is warm and tend to hold shape and turn firm upon cooling.
I used Premium Dark Cocoa Powder, so i used only 1 tbsp & 1 tsp cocoa powder.
Instead of ghee, you can also use butter.
I used Non fat Milk Powder, you can use whole milk powder too.
