Biscuit Sablé / Eggless French Shortbread Biscuits / Shortbreads Recipe

From this Monday Love 2 Bake event starts and as per the event Every coming Monday i will be posting a Baked recipe. I am happy to see the response and support from my fellow bloggers and Thank you friends for joining hands with me and lets learn and experiment more.Starting Love 2 Bake event this week with this buttery melt in mouth French Shortbread Biscuits / Biscuits Sables. Biscuits Sables is one of the recipe chose for Home Baker's Challenge by this month's host Priya of Priya's Verstatile recipes. Priya challenged with 5 wonderful French Bakes, Of which I baked this Melt in mouth Biscuits Sables. This is an eggless biscuits with buttery flavor and subtle sweetness. Now off to the recipe...

Recipe Source : Priya's Versatile Recipes. Preparation Time : 10 minutes
Baking Time : 15-18 minutes
Makes About   24 biscuits
Ingredients
  1. All purpose flour   2 and 1/2 cups
  2. Salt   1/2 tsp
  3. Softened Butter  1 cup
  4. Powdered sugar  1/2 cup
  5. Vanilla extract   1/2 tsp
  6. Milk  1 tsp
I halved the recipe and got 12 short breads.

Method
  • Beat the butter and sugar together until they turns light and fluffy.
  • Add in the vanilla extract, milk or water, beat for few minutes.
  • Now add the flour, salt and mix well to form a smooth dough.
  • Roll the dough between two parchment paper and flatten slowly with a rolling pin.
  • Using a cookie cutter, cut the cookies from the rolled dough.
  • Transfer the unbaked cookies to a baking sheet lined with a parchment paper.
  • Preheat the oven to 350 F.
  • Bake in medium rack for 15-18 minutes or until set.
  • Cool the cookies on baking sheets.
  • Store the cooled cookies in an air tight container.

  2. looks too good.. how much is your 1 cup butter in gram, sangee?

  3. I used 1/2 cup butter(1 stick) and that is 113 gram.

  10. Biscuit sables look so lovely, this is an easy to make biscuit recipe with a very few ready to available ingredients. I have baked cakes but never ever baked any biscuits. Your biscuit sables are tempting me to give a try with baking biscuits. Red satin ribbon with white polka dots on it is very attractive. It made the biscuits and also the pic to look more beautiful.
