Eggless Chocoalte Mug Cake / Eggless Chocolate cake in a Mug / Microwave Chocolate Cake

I have been posting all savory Sundals & side dish recipes for past week and for a change wanted to share this Instant Chocolate Cake recipe which i tried long long back and now only got time to click and share this easy & single serving Chocolate cake. Have tried many Eggless cake recipe even my Eggless Carrot Mug cake  & Mango Mug cake recipes are a very moist, soft and delicious cake with bit dense texture but this Chocolate cake is so so light, airy and fluffy cake and you will not say its a Eggless cake. That too with all simple & Basic cake Ingredients, just give it a try to feel the real taste and flavor. All you need is just 2 minutes to enjoy this Chocolaty treat. I have spared so many 2 minutes for this chocolate cake and enjoyed it a lot with my kids. They love it a lot and one time made 4 mug cakes for us :)  Ok now off to the recipe..

Recipe Source : Cooking With Thas
Ingredients
  1. All Purpose Flour    4 tbsp
  2. Sugar     3 tbsp
  3. Cocoa Powder    2 tbsp
  4. Baking Soda  1/4 tsp
  5. Milk       3 tbsp
  6. Oil        2-3 tbsp
  7. Vanilla Extract    1/4 tsp (optional)
  8. Chocolate Chips   1 tsp (i used mini chocolate chips)

Method
In a microwave sagve mug(12 oz)/remkin, combine all the ingredients in and mix well using a spoon. Top it with some chocolate chips or nuts.
Make sure the batter fills only the half of the mug as the cake will rise while cooking.
Keep the mug with the batter in a microwave.
Microwave in full power for 2 minutes.
Cooking time might vary depending on the microwave, if the center of the cake is not cooked well even after 2 minutes and 30 seconds, microwave for a few more seconds.
That's it..Chocolate Mug Cake ready to relish.

Notes:
To check your cake is cooked or not, after 2 minutes cooking insert a tooth pick if it comes out clean then its done.
And one more way, if you flip the mug/remkin the cake should drop easily.

    1. Mostly microwave cake gets little hard/crumble after some time, I guess, as its a single serving and instant cake it should be consumed soon, One more reason that i read was over cooking makes the cakes hard. Oven temperature and settings vary so can't help. Its good to enjoy the cake when its warm.

    2. No mug cake become hard only if you over cooked it
Every microwave is a bit different so just keep a eye on it
      Less is more.

    1. You can use any desired oil or lightly flavored oil - I use Extra light olive Oil.

  24. I tried this recipe it was good but it needs about 4 tablespoons of sugar. But can always adjust the amount according to your taste...

  26. I couldn't find regular oil so I used coconut oil. I also chopped up some melting disks. Turned out great and when I turnee it upside down on a plate most of the chocolate had went tobthe bottom creating a nice topping. I added some homemade carmel and it wad delicious. XD

  27. Just made this and it was delicious! A little crumbly without any egg but very cakelike overall. Definitely recommend! Very rich and chocolatey but not too sweet.

  28. The only mug cake recipe that didn't turn out absolutely horrible. Entered into this world of delicious chocolatelyness (real word) with skepticism and left a beaming fan. Was moist, but not that weird gooey moist, delicious and not too bitter! Suggestion: 2 1/2 tbsp of oil was perfect!

  29. I just made this with my sister and it's the first mug cake j have ever made and it was AWESOME!!! I did one following this recipe exactly (with 2 oil and with the vanilla extract) and I did one using unsweetened vanilla almond milk and I pu peanut butter on top and they were both great! I liked the almond milk one better though

  30. I have been making these for my husband most nights now for about 3 weeks, although cannot eat them myself as too high in calories. Around 315 cals a cup (I added all ingredients together and worked it out), too much when trying to lose weight. He absolutely loves them and now I just leave all of the ingredients on the side so I can make one for him after dinner. 5/5! If you want moist 2 mins in microwave, if you want a spongier one like hubby prefers, 2 1/2 mins.

  31. It's so so good! I love adding some ice cream on top ♡

  32. I've made this a few times and all I can say is: Amazing! I love to add a bit of peppermint flavoring and OMG it's like heaven! I would recommend adding an extra tbsp of sugar if you don't want it to taste too much like chocolate but either way, really awesome and by far the best recipe I have found!
