Ragi Malt(Sweet) Recipe | Dates Ragi Malt | Sweet Ragi Porridge Recipe | Ragi Malt With Dates & Nuts

Ragi Malt Recipe
Today's recipe is a healthy and equally delicious sweet porridge prepared using Ragi flour, Palm Jaggery, Dates & Nuts. I cook Ragi/Finger Millet once or twice in a week and mostly a savory dish like Ragi Adai or Ragi Idli for dinner or breakfast. Rarely make Ragi Puttu for kids and this time instead of Puttu I made Sweet Porridge/Ragi Malt. Instead of plain version with milk and sugar I made it extra healthy using dates puree and Palm Jaggery. Palm Jaggery and dates are natural sweetener and the porridge turned out super delicious and also the color of the porridge was so dark like chocolate malt. My kids loved it a lot.
Ragi/Finger Millet porridge are super healthy and delicious recipes for growing kids, so try to include at least once in a week in their diet. If you don't have dates in hand you can skip dates and make it as a plain ragi malt. Here I used store bought Organic Ragi Flour and Organic Palm Jaggery, for vegan option use Coconut milk or Almond milk. I have tried with coconut milk too. Theres not much difference in the taste of ragi malt using dairy milk and coconut milk. Cardamom powder enhances the taste and flavor but it is optional.

Mutton Korma Recipe | Mutton Kurma Recipe | Mutton Curry Recipe With Cashew Nut & Poppy seeds

Mutton Korma Recipe
I was caught with cold & sinus headache so I could  not able to post Kitchen Basics Recipe last weekend. I will try to be regular with my post in coming weekends. Now coming to today's recipe Mutton Kurma, Mutton Kurma is a mildly spiced flavorful and rich curry using Mutton-Cashew Nuts-Poppy seeds combo. After my own try with Kozhi Milagu Kuzhambu I got confident to try few Non-Veg recipes of my own. And this Mutton Korma is my own creation, keeping the vegetarian Kurma recipe in mind I tried the same with Mutton. Only thing I added extra was Yogurt. Addition of fresh yogurt/curd gives nice texture and taste to kurma. If you haven't tried Mutton curry recipe with yogurt, next time try to add couple of tbsp of yogurt and you will be surprised with the taste and texture of the curry. And along with Mutton I wanted to add some aloo/potato & peas too. But I don't have peas in hand, so added potatoes alone.

Aloo Methi Mutter Curry / Potato Peas Methi Curry

Today's recipe is rich and creamy curry made with Potato/Aloo-Peas-Methi leaves combo. This is one of my experiment which turned out super doper Hit with my family. A month back H bought one Instant curry mix(dry powder) like spice powder of Paneer Butter Masala, Methi Malai Mutter n one more pack. That spice mix powder gives really a restaurant style taste n it was more liked by my kids especially the Paneer Butter Masala. Its my long time wish to recreate that spice mix at home and wanted to try a curry in that style.

After entering in to this vast blogging world, i happen to get so many friends virtually :) I am so lucky to have such friends in my life and one such blogger dear friend , Sobha who blogs at Good Food. She is really a lovely person and i always amazed at her healthy cooking and egg less calorie less baking.  I am so excited when she asked me to do a guest post for her Chef's Favorite Series. And am so happy she starts the great event with my post as first, Thank You Sobha for this wonderful opportunity and i feel so honored. I shared me and my kids' favourite Butter Cashew Biscuits. I tried this so many times and now this has become my family favourite. These biscuits/cookies taste similar to Good Day Cashew Biscuits and even more fresh and flavourful than the store bought ones. Good day Biscuits and Bourbon biscuits are my favourite ones. I never thought that I could make those lovely cashew biscuits at home.
