Today we are entering in to the 6th week of fun filled event,Blog Hop Wednesday started by Radhika. Really i am enjoying this event with new friends and also by trying out some wonderful dishes from their lovely blogs. So far i visited 5 of my friend's blog and tried and tasted some of their dishes. So friends if you also want to enjoy a ride in this great event do visit the link above and leave a mail and join the group.
As per this week's schedule i visited Ramya's blog . she got all kinds of recipes , from started to bakes. From that i have chosen "Neer Dosa" and Tomato chutney from her space . Both are yummy dishes and matches well. So quick and simple recipe.
Ingredients
For Neer Dosa
- Raw Rice 1 cup
- Shredded Coconut 1/2 cup
- Salt to taste
- Water as needed
Method
- Wash and Soak rice for about 1-2 hours .
- Grind the rice along with shredded coconut to a smooth batter using water.
- Then transfer the ground batter to a bowl, add water to make the batter to a thinner consistency like water.Make thin as much as possible.
- It should be like water, free flowing batter.Add salt and set aside for 15-20 minutes (for fine taste n result).
- No need for fermentation...this is instant dosa batter .
- Method
- Heat a sauce pan, smear with oil and pour a laddle full of batter randomly and swirl the gently and cover it with a lid.
- Cook for 2 minutes and the open the lid and fols the dosa like handkerchief and transfer to a serving plate.
- Enjoy with any spicy chutney or vegetable stew.
Note:
Do not stack the dosa when it is hot...or else it will get sticky n not able to serve neatly.(like me)
Tomato chutney
I tried this tomato chutney from her space only and added urad dal extra to the recipe. this is so simple and quick chutney.
Ingredients
- Onion 1 medium9roughly chopped0

- Chana dal 1/4 tsp
- Urad dal 1/4 tsp

- Then add tomatoes and saute till soft and then add chilli powder and shredded coconut and stir fry for a minute.
- Turn off the stove and allow the mixture to cool.
- Then grind to a smooth paste using blender and transfer the chutney to a bowl.
- Heat oil in a tempering pan , add the tempering ingrdients one by one and add it to the chutney.
- That's it spicy tangy tomato chutney is ready to serve for Idly/Dosa.
