Peas Pulao Recipe / Peas Pulav - Easy & Simple Pulao Recipe

Looking for very quick and easy at the same time rich and aromatic on busy weekdays for lunch? then this peas pulao is the best to do recipe. So flavorful, light and satisfying meal along with raita or some spicy Veg Curry.
Even this Peas Pulao is best option for Potluck or any get together party or special occasions. Very simple recipe and its easy to make in huge proportions also. Fresh Peas is must for this pulao, dried one doesn't suit for this.


Ingredients

  1. Basmati rice   2cups
  2. Peas   2/3 cup( frozen peas)
  3. onion   1 Big size (thinly sliced)
  4. Ginger garlic paste   1 tbsp
  5. Green chilli    6-8 no.s
  6. Cilantro/coriander leaves  2 tbsp(finely chopped)
  7. Mint leaves    2 tbsp(finely chopped)
To temper
  1. Oil + ghee   2-3 tbsp
  2. Shahi jeera/black cumin seeds   1/2 tsp
  3. Bay leaf   2-3 no.s
  4. Cloves   4-5 no.s
  5. Cinnamon/ Pattai   1" piece
  6. Cardamom   3 no.s
  7. Cashew nuts   2-3 tbsp 
Method
  • Soak Basmati rice for at least 15-20 minutes.
  • Heat oil/ghee in a non stick sauce pan , add 1/2 tsp shahi jeera, cashew nuts, cloves, cinnamon and cardamom let them splutter.
  • Then add sliced onions and sprinkle some salt ,fry lightly.no need to wait for golden brown.
  • now add ginger garlic paste and saute well till the raw smell goes.
  • Cook in medium flame and stir it for every 1-2 minutes to avoid burning at the bottom, becoz the pulav should be in light color .
  • Then add the frozen peas along with chopped coriander & mint leaves, fry for 2-3 minutes then add drained basmati rice stir fry for 2-3 minutes.
  • After that add enough water and salt and cook till rice done.
  • That's it flavorful and tasty Peas Pulao ready.

Note:
Instead of cooking the pulao in water, you can use half water n half coconut milk ( ie, for 1 cup rice 2 cups of water-so use 1 cup coconut milk & 1 cup water or  2 cups of coconut milk)or entirely cook using coconut milk for more rich taste n flavor.
