Flaounes / Eggless Flaounes(Cypriot Savoury Easter Cheese Pies)

Flaounes are savoury cheese pies that are baked for Greek Orthodox Easter. This recipe is part of April Month's We Knead to Bake. Since I was not able to participate that month I am posting it now.This Flauones/cypriot bread is little different from the Other traditional Easter bakes, as
this Flaounes are savory bread with goodness of cheese and some addition of special spices
Meheleb and Mastic which are widely used in Greek and Middle Eastern Cuisines. Flaounes filling are made of salty kind of cheese and it can be replaced with haloumi cheese, greek cheese, English Cheddar, some Italian cheese like Parmesan or Romenalo Cheese.

In this Flaounes Aparna suggested Mozzarella, Sharp Cheddar & Paneer combo. Since we don't like cheddar i used mozzarella, little Parmesan & feta cheese with other filling ingredients.Also i skipped Mehelab & Mastic, the former one is made by powdering the dried pits of wild Mediterranean cherry and mastic is the dried resin of a shrub.As it is loaded with cheese and mild sweet of raisins, my kids loved it a lot. Once in a while or on special occasions its good to enjoy such rich and delicious breads. I made as Eggless Flaounes by referring Priya's Eggless Flaounes.

Komaj - Persian Date Bread Filled With Turmeric & Cumin(Eggless Recipe)

After two months break, am participating in this month's We Knead to Bake, a bread baking event by Aparna. For this month, Aparna chosen Komaj/ Persian Date Bread with Turmeric and Cumin seeds. This is again a new bread to me and tried and tasted it for the for the first time. This is an Interesting, soft and delicious buns with a unique combo of cumin seeds, turmeric and dates. In Iran they cut the komaj into heart shaped buns but you can use either square or round cutters also, here i used round cutter. We just loved this savory and sweet combo. My neighbors too liked the buns which i shared with them.
I also filled few with chocolate chips and nuts for my kids since they do not like dates. Chocolate chip paired well with the cumin and turmeric buns. Komaj tasted yummy when dipped in warm coffee, i liked it that way. Try this unique combo bread and am sure you will love it. Now off to the recipe...

Mango Lemonade / Mango Lemonade With Simple Syrup - Easy Mango Summer Recipe!

Summer at its full swing here, the past week was sunny, hot and humid days. Though it rained heavily during night time with strong T-storms we couldn't feel the chill breeze. Dunno how we going to manage another 2 months, we need to be hydrated and stay cool by having more water, fresh juices, cool drinks and summer fruits. My kids love mock tail or aerated kind of drinks rather than the milkshake or milk based drinks. So for them i make Lemonade, Orange Mocktail, Mango Mint Sparkler, Watermelon Lemonade and this time Mango Lemonade with Simple Syrup. This Mango Lemonade is a very delicious and refreshing thirst quencher and a must try Summer Drink. I used simple syrup for this Mango lemonade, simple syrup is nothing but a sugar syrup with one part of sugar and one part of water boiled until sugar dissolves. You can use this simple syrup to make any juices and it can be refrigerated up to 2 months or more.

Stir fried Chicken Pasta
Chicken is the only meat we eat once or twice in a month. And i mostly prepare a curry or Biryani every time. But because of my Blog and readers' request I started trying few other chicken recipes like Chicken Kebab, Chicken Cutlets and this Chicken Pasta. Chicken Pasta is something unusual and new recipe which i tried it for the first time with my own recipe, this is completely not a Indian version & not a fusion too. Its a simple and yummy Chicken Pasta with mild spices which is perfect for kids. This chicken pasta turned out so good and my kids loved it a lot. I added only couple of tablespoons of carrot and capsicum to make it more filling and colorful. You can add your desired veggies or make it a plain chicken pasta. Now off to the recipe

Mango Lassi / Mango Lassi(With Cardamom) / Mango Yogurt Drink !

Today's Recipe is another easy and delicious drink made using yogurt and ripe Mangoes, Mango Lassi. Lassi is a simple yogurt based drink and it can be made both savory and sweet drink. Sweet Lassi can be made with fruits also and here i have used fresh Ripe Mangoes and flavored with cardamom. Of all the fruit-yogurt based drink, this Mango Lassi is one of my most favorite drink. I love cardamom to my lassi but it is purely optional.You can even top it with some chopped pistachios also. There are lots of recipes for Lassi, some uses more yogurt and less milk, few even add some cream for rich and creamy taste but i like to add equal amount for fresh Yogurt and milk. Mango Vermicelli Kheer / Mango Kheer - Easy Mango Dessert Recipe !

Hi, Friends & Readers, Hope you are doing great and everything is fine from my end too. Because of our shifting and other things i took a break and Finally we shifted and settled in Aurora. Though it;s a Interstate move, one or the other things kept me busy. I really missed by little space and my dear blogger friends a lot. And, now I am happy and excited to be back. But somehow, I lost the Enthu and it gonna take some time for me. At the same time, don't want to extend the break time, so will keep posting whenever time and mind permits ;)
Today's post is a simple and easy to make sweet, Mango Vermicelli Kheer. As its summer and also Mango season, definitely a very apt and delicious dessert to enjoy on this hot sunny days. This is nothing but a simple Vermicelli Kheer with the addition of Mango pulp. I have already posted the recipe for Mango Rice Kheer. Both Mango Kheer are delicious and a must try to the enjoy the Mango season. Now off to the recipe.,
