Garlic Pull Apart Roll

It was my long time wish to make Garlic Pull apart rolls and i made it successfully a few days back. It came out really good and the taste and texture was beyond my expectation. And it also so simple and easy to make. I don't have bunt pan or rectangular pan to bake pull apart roll / bread so i simply bake it in my round cake pan keeping them intact in circular form. i didn't bother about the shape and size but enjoyed it completely. For me n my H i added some finely chopped green chillies to the garlic spread and we enjoyed the spicy garlic rolls. My kids, really they don't have patience till i took pictures, you won't believe i took about 116 shots for this rolls...out of that 6-7 were the best. Remaining all were blurred because they were shaking my hands n touching the rolls and don't even allow me to do something creatively. Keep on questioning ..mommy finished ah?? photo eduthittya?? saapidalama?? eppa kudupeenga?? and so on... at last i ended the photo session with half mind and again reheated them in oven for 3 minutes and served ...ok.. okk.. Now to the recipe..

Recipe Source : My Singapore Kitchen
Ingredients
  1. All Purpose Flour    3 cups
  2. Rapid Rise Instant Yeast    3/4 tbsp
  3. Salt       1 tsp
  4. Water    as needed
  5. Olive Oil     1-2 tbsp
  6. Garlic Butter   2-3 tbsp or as needed
  7. Milk     2 tbsp (for brushing)
  8. Sesame seeds    1 tsp or as needed(optional)
For Garlic butter
  1. Unsalted Butter     6 tbsp
  2. Garlic      3 big cloves(grated or finely chopped)
  3. Parsley / Cilantro    3 tbsp finely chopped(i used 1 and 1/2 tbsp parsley flakes)
  4. Italian seasoning      1/4 tsp (optional)
  5. Pepper Powder       1/4 tsp (optional)
Method
  • Sift the flour and add it to a mixing bowl.
  • Add yeast and salt mix well and using water make it to a soft, smooth dough.
  • Now drizzle oil on the dough and knead for about 8 - 10 minutes. (when you press with your fingers  the dough should spring back)
  • Then apply oil over the kneaded dough and cover the bowl using cling wrap or wet cloth and keep it in a warm place for about 40-45 minutes.
  • Meanwhile prepare the garlic butter and keep aside.
  • Take a small bowl, add butter,parsley/cilantro and garlic mix all together to  a smooth paste n keep aside.
  • Once the dough has risen to double its initial size, Preheat oven to 350 degree Fahrenheit or 180 degree Celsius.
  • Grease baking pan/tray with olive oil /cooking spray, n keep ready.
  • Now punch down the air and again knead dough for few minutes.
  • Then divide the dough in to two equal parts, take one portion and on a well floured surface roll the dough to 1/4" thick using a rolling pin.
  • Now keep 1 tbsp or more garlic butter on the rolled dough and spread all over it and start rolling from one end and completely.
  • Then cut the rolled roll in to 4-5 equal small rolls and arrange it on the greased baking pan.
  • Repeat the same procedure for the remaining portion and arrange everything on the baking pan and apply remaining garlic spread on the top, brush the top with milk, sprinkle some sesame seeds and set aside for another 20 minutes.
  • After 20 minutes, the rolls had raised and bake it for 20-25 minutes or till the top turns golden brown and crisp. For me it took only 14 minutes , within that the rolls in the smaller pan started burning on top so plz check after 10 -12 minutes.
  • Once done, remove from the oven, allow it to cool for a while.
  • Then serve the garlic Pull apart rolls with a hot cup of chai/coffee.

Notes:
I used instant yeast so i added it directly to the flour and mixed. If you are using dry yeast or non active yeast, take 1/2 cup of warm milk, add yeast ,1/2 tbsp sugar and 3/4 tsp salt mix everything well and allow it rest for few minutes or till becomes frothy.
Add this  to the flour and knead the dough.
I don't have fresh cilantro or parsley in hand so i used parsley flakes, you can use fresh ones also.
